The Mariani Foundation for Paediatric Neurology and the Centre of Excellence in Music, Mind, Body and Brain (MMBB), University of Helsinki, announce The Neurosciences and Music | VIII conference to be held in Helsinki, Finland, from 13 to 16 June, 2024. The 8th edition of this international conference will bring together experts in music neuroscience from all over the world for the most important event in the field.
The focus of the congress will be Wiring, Re-wiring, and Well-being. This theme reflects the unique capacity of music to build connections, both between persons and within the brain, to facilitate the learning and re-learning of skills in the healthy and injured brain, and to foster development and well-being in daily life and in educational and rehabilitative settings.
The scientific programme will include a Keynote Lecture, Symposia, Poster Sessions, and Pre-conference Workshops. There will be social events over the four evenings, including a welcome reception, a conference dinner and two musical soirees featuring talented Finnish artists who are rising stars in a range of genres. The meeting will be of interest to neuroscientists, psychologists, clinicians and professionals in the medical field, therapists, educators, musicians, musicologists, and students in each of these fields.
